Illinois Governor Pawlenty Statement Regarding Possible Cessation of Canadian Drugs
SAINT PAUL, Minn., Dec. 29, 2004 -- The following is a statement from Governor Tim Pawlenty regarding news reports that Canada may move tow preventing American patients from receiving prescriptions from Canada unless they are examined by a Canadian doctor.
"The Canadian government should not slam the door on American consumers seeking more affordable prescription medicines from safe Canadian pharmacies. The proposed change in Canada's prescription drug policy would have serious side effects on the pocketbooks and well-being of the more than 2 million Americans who buy their prescription medicines from Canada.
"In the unfortunate event that Canada changes its policy, we will seek a way to keep our MinnesotaRxConnect.com website operating by facilitating purchases from European countries with safe pharmacy systems."
